Join This Moral Re-awakening Campaign (MRC) and help make Kenya a Wonderful Country to invest and live in
Robbing Poor Children
Now for example, we have in Kenya two big thefts that should have brought each of us to the streets in protest. One involves the theft of multimillions of Kenyan shillings meant for free primary education for the poor children of Kenya. Officials – very senior and well-paid officials – of the ministry of education found it fit to loot the money, threatening the education of the children. Up to now, no convincing action has been taken against the thieves.
U.K and U.S Fight Kenyan Corruption
But let me record here that the British and American government have without funding to the free primary education project in protest – and as I understand – until the thieves are brought to book. Good reaction, but what did the thieves in the ministry say? Good riddance! After all, they never contribute anything. It was all Kenyan money! Have you ever heard such stupid from people who are supposed to supervise education in the country? If it were Kenyan money, would it still be right for them to steal it? Unfortunately President Mwai Kibaki is a man gifted in being slow to react. So Kenya has become a haven for public thieves and conmen.
Robbing the Dead
Now, of course, you know the about the cemetery land for Nairobi City. The city – it used to be the City in the Sun – has only one public cemetery, the Lang’ata cemetery. And it is full. So new land for the purpose was sought and apparently found in the adjacent Mavoko Municipality. In case you don’t know, Mavoko is the other name of Athi River Municipality.
The point is that the land is not only inappropriate; it was sold for millions more than it was worth. And the difference was pocketed by thieves at the Nairobi Municipal Council.
These are not the most important thefts. They are only the most recent.
Our belief is that Kenyans need reeducation on morality. Traditionally, Africa was corruption free. While this is commendable, some ideas such as cattle rustling have, no doubt contributed to the fast growth of corruption in the continent where people are unable to see the collective good in modern states. So we treat modern states as alternatives to cattle rustling. The result is that we, as Africans have a high tolerance to corruption. Thieves of public funds are unfortunately even worshiped and protected by their communities.
We need a Moral Re-awakening Campaign. Nothing else will help. Not a new constitution. Not a new government. Not another President. We need new value system, a Moral Re-awakening Campaign.
If you feel hurt by corrupt government official join our Moral Re-awakening Campaign. Our purpose is to develop and spread new values and definitions of achievement. Write to express your support today!

I’m not sure I agree with you. I have a brother who is losing his multimillion dollar home to the bank. Its a place he has owned for 15 years. He got in over his head during the housing bubble. He could have pulled himself out but got so depressed, he could barely function. He used to say I want to save my house but he never did anything about it. Its really sad. If you know someone like this, be supportive. Send them to http://www.savemyhousetips.com for tips.
